New members of Puławy Competence Center Consortium
Accession of INTERMAG Ltd. and PCC ADOB Ltd. to the Consortium, discussions about opportunities and perspectives of agricultural sector development and presentation of current issues and future projects of Puławy Competence Center for 2015 were the main points of the second this year’s meeting of the Consortium and Scientific Council of Puławy Competence Center.
On Friday, 19th June 2015 in Puławy Science and Technology Park members of Puławy Competence Center Consortium decided unanimously to broaden its composition of two companies – INTERMAG and ADOB. INTERMAG is a leading producer of agrochemicals for agriculture and horticulture, as well as health promoting products for farm animals. PPC ADOB is a producer of a wide range micronutrient fertilizers and inorganic chemicals.
During the first part of the meeting there were also two subjects discussed – program of activities aiming limitation of nitrogen outflow from agricultural sources and new fertilizer limits under existing legislation. Participants expressed concerns about proposed restrictions and its consequences for Polish economy and agricultural sector. The next discussed field was the accreditation of field research in Poland and verification of fertilizing guidelines. Consortium members decided to focus on the issue because there are more various studies conducted which concern to evaluate the effectiveness of fertilizers available on commercial markets as well as new fertilizers efficiency. Currently there is a lack of relevant procedures and supervision to confirm the quality of fertilizers during field research.
Then the coordinator of Puławy Competence Center Zenon Pokojski Ph. D. focused on Center’s activities. He presented plans concerning the latest publications and activities to start up MBA studies for agricultural entrepreneurs.
The last part of the meeting were topics raised by National Association of Rapeseed and Protein Crops Producers concerning coalition in favor of biofules and permission to introduce the market with plant protection products up to 120 days.
