New Chemical Syntheses Institute seated in Puławy is a state research and development unit with a long lasting tradition, which is subject to supervision by the Ministry of Economy.
Its beginnings as Research Laboratory at United Factories of Nitrogen Compounds in Mościce and Chorzów date back to 1935.

The Institute of Soil Science and Plant Cultivation (IUNG) was founded in 1950. Rich tradition of agricultural research in Pulawy, however, goes back to the year 1862 when Polytechnic Institute of Agriculture and Forestry was established as well as to the achievements of the State Research Institute of Rural Husbandry (PINGW) that was seated in Pulawy in the years 1917-1950. The Institute of Soil Science and Plant Cultivation is a research-development unit conducting agricultural studies under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. The broad range of activities comprises crop production, fertilisation, soil science, as well as recognition and protection of agricultural areas against various forms of degradation. Statutory activities of the Institute are implemented within the long-term program “Principles of sustainable management and protection of agricultural area in Poland.

Warsaw University of Life Sciences (WULS – SGGW) is the first agricultural institution of higher education in Poland and the fourth one in Europe. Its origins date back to the year of 1816 and to the creation of the Institute of Agronomy in Marymont.
